The dogs had been gone with me all day to Brandon’s. We came down the road, got the mail and pulled up driveway. The screen on back window was partially off. I left the girls and Max in truck. I took Rocky and Ruth to clear the house. I wasn’t sure that Ruth knew what she was doing, but she mirrored Rocky perfectly.

We went back out to tell girls to come in and get their stuff when Rocky came out and alerted. The hair on the back of his neck was standing up and he was on alert. I sent Rocky and Max. I got girls and Ruth headed into house when first scream was heard. I called the dogs back and then heard a second scream.

Rocky came back, but Max didn’t. I got a weapon and got in the truck headed toward woods to find Max. After few minutes, he came to truck. The Sheriff’s department came but guy was gone.

Ours is third house on this road hit and the only one that didn’t have something stolen. Plus, the bad guy probably got bit based on the screams. The Deputies said they would check the ERs for dog bite victims, but that they probably wouldn’t go to one in Etowah County. When I put Rocky in Obedience then Protection training I never dreamed he would have to use his training so many times.

Rocky: 4 or 5
Bad Guys: 0

We are safe and secure. Our home is protected. All because of the relationship between me and my pack. I am thanking God everyday for Joe and Sidney and all of their hard work in training us. -Roxanne
