Sidney – Hey Boss. I couldnt figure out how to add a review so maybe you can take the below and use it if you’d like. Best, neal
Being a few years after our Dobbie passed away we decided it was time to get a new puppy, so across the country we drove to find the perfect GSD puppy. Banjo immediately stole my girls, Wife and Daughters’, and my heart. We found the perfect dog and since I had taken our previous Doberman through obedience training with another local well known trainer’s program it would be simple, Right? Well it didn’t turn out to be as simple as I had imagined. Sure Banjo quickly learned basic obedience but little did I know obedience isn’t the only thing, not even the most important thing. While on leash he did everything asked of him but let him off the leash and his ‘alpha’ instincts took over, he quickly became out of control. Looking back Man what a chore it was to have him on leash Anytime we left the house or even went outside.
By the time Banjo entered the ‘Kingdom’ he was unfortunately already set in his ways, he was loving and loyal to a fault but wow he was hard to manage. You see Banjo seems to be a lot more high-strung than any dog I had ever owned. And being about 18 months old the work required to teach him would now take much more persistence vs if I had brought him at the younger age. Next time, we will buy one of Sidney’s puppies and Start on the right foot. As for Banjo, I was doubtful that he could behave well enough being set in his ways and I was very scared that I couldn’t manage him anymore. And honestly when I first observed the training methods, which seemed to me unorthodox, I was skeptical as it was very different than the other dog training that I had done and even heard about. And I researched a lot! Now I am sold. Even though Banjo was set in his ways it wasn’t any problem for Sidney. Forcing a dog to obey vs allowing a dog to submit to a real alpha are two opposing methods, and the latter is more natural and far superior. Knowing how to read your dog and being able to communicate to your dog without confusing him makes all the difference in the world. Also, I am not a fast learner and it took me a while to comprehend why Sidney had Banjo and I do the exercises that we did but it all finally started to make sense. Now I can think back to the first few training sessions and see that everything we did, everything that Sidney says are done with a greater purpose in mind. And it is fun, you see you get private lessons but you also join in with group lessons so you are able to watch other puppies grow in their training, well really you watch the other owners grow because by the time you start working with your dog he/she already has been taught by The Kingdom so teaching the owner takes longer. I witnessed dogs of all sizes and breeds with their owners move and grow through the program, just amazing.
Sure there are cheaper trainers out there but you get what you pay for. You cannot put a price tag on having a dog trained with this method. I will use Kingdom K9 from now on and highly recommend them! Banjo is much happier and it is such a pleasure and blessing to not have to use the leash anymore! He is a different dog. All of the friends and family that knew Banjo before and after training are blown away with how well he behaves now. If you are considering teaming with Kingdom K9 – Do it! You wont regret it.
